Basic Driver Assessment
Available to financial members of clubs affiliated with 4WD NSW & ACT ONLY
These courses are mixed delivery including Pre-learning (e-learning including online assessment (where applicable) and face-to-face training and assessment day.
Pre-course learning and assessment must be attempted before your face-to-face course day. It is estimated to take 4-7 hours, depending on your knowledge and experience.

Exact Meeting Time & Place: Confirmed on Enrolment
Duration: The training typically runs from 8.15am through to approximately 4.00pm
Lunch & Morning Tea: Members should bring their own lunch, drinks and snacks for the day.
What to Bring: Bring your Driver’s License, a Chair, your 4wd vehicle, a pen, a clipboard, your recovery kit and anything else you would normally take on a 4WD trip. If you have a UHF radio, please bring it as well. Also bring any special tools/keys required to remove the spare tyre and tow bar goose neck. Participants will be required to use their own snatch strap for the practical exercise. License - This is needed for certification to be issued.
What to Wear: Suitable hard-top footwear & weather appropriate clothing.
Registration: You are required to complete the Driver Assessment Form.
Once complete it will be manually sent to your club for verification. Once you have been verified you will be emailed the link to the Getabout website to book in for your preferred course.
Once registered & paid, you will be mailed the 4WD Guidebook and emailed a link to the e-learning platform 3- 4 weeks out from your training day.
Payment: Cost is $110.00 – Payment will be made directly to Getabout Training services.
Preparation: Participants are expected to have read their copy of the course materials, and completed all the questions and documentation.
You will be required to supply a USI number, if you don’t have a USI number can you please go to the link and complete the enrolment so you can obtain one, this will save a lot of time on the day. www.usi.gov.au
